Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Want to Reread

I was kind of disappointed today that Top Ten Tuesday was not about banned Books.  So I hope to post later today.  This post will talk about which books I would like to reread and another later this evening which talks about which banned books are must reads.

  1. Fables Vol. 1: Legends in Exile by Bill Willingham – I love everything about his series.  Since I am a few issues behind I want to start all over and read it straight through.
  2. Le Morte D’Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory –  It has been a long time since I have read this and watching Starz’s Camelot and BBC’s Merlin has made me want to go back and reread this classic.
  3. A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller, Jr. – It has been a good few years for dystopian and post-apocalyptic books but this one was probably my first. I want to see if it is as good as I remember.
  4. American Gods by Neil Gaiman – After hearing that this is going to be made into a series, it is now a must reread before then.
  5. The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell – Much loved and much recommended, I can’t wait to reread Emilio Sandoz’s story.
  6. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson – October is right around the corner.
  7. The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins – All before March 23, 2012.
  8. The Magicians: A Novel and The Magician King: A Novel by Lev Grossman – Best reads of 2011. Trying to figure out how to work them in next year as well.
  9. Instructions by Neil Gaiman – Not sure if this is cheating as it is a picture book, but I will read this over and over and over.  Words by Gaiman; Art by Vess.  It does not get any better.
  10. I am currently reading The Belgariad by David Eddings to The Girl.  We have just finished Pawn of Prophecy and she is chomping at the bit to read Queen of Sorcery.  I love that at 11, she still lets me sit and read to her every night.

  1. I have read Doc and A Thread Of Grace by Mary Doria Russell which were both fantastic. Need to add The Sparrow to my TBR. Planning on The Haunting of Hill House and The Woman in Black for October! I still haven’t read Lev Grossman yet!

    1. Annie –
The Sparrow is probably in my list of top 10 books I have ever read. And if you are a fantasy geek like me Lev Grossman is a god. I would love to know what you think of them after you read them.
