Book Blogger Hop: June 29-July 5

Book Blogger HopDo you have a keeper shelf for books you loved?
What books are on that shelf and why?

I am a keeper of books. Book I know I will never read again. Books I know I will never read in the first place. My house is full of books. Book are on shelves.  Books are piled on the books that are on the selves.  There are book piles on the top of the bookcases.  I love books. So the reality is that my house is my keeper shelf.

So I got to thinking, if I had to do it.  If I had to reduce all the books in the house to a mere shelf what would be there.  Here are the 15 I came up with:

  1. Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
  2. The Chronicles of Narnia (The Chronicles of Narnia, #1-7) by C.S. Lewis
  3. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll
  4. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  5. The Princess Bride by William Goldman
  6. The Lord of the Rings (Lord of the Rings #1-3) by J.R.R. Tolkien
  7. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
  8. Blueberry Girl by Neil Gaiman
  9. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
  10. The Magician and The Magician King by Lev Grossman
  11. The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell
  12. The Complete Grimm’s Fairy Tales by Jacob Ludwig Karl Grimm and Wilhelm Karl Grimm
  13. Complete Stories and Poems by Edgar Allan Poe
  14. The Complete Works by William Shakespeare
  15. My antique editions of the first 5 OZ books

Now can I have a second shelf for children’s books?

Something Wicked This Way Comes Chronicles of Narnia Box Set The Complete Alice in Wonderland (Wonderland Imprints Master Editions) Pride and Prejudice (Norton Critical Editions) The Princess Bride (20th Anniversary Edition) The Lord of the Rings: 50th Anniversary, One Vol. Edition The Handmaid's Tale Blueberry Girl (Hardcover) American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition: A Novel The Magicians: A Novel The Magician King: A Novel (The Magicians) The Sparrow The Annotated Brothers Grimm (Expanded and Updated) Complete Stories and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe Complete Works

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. Sorry for the delay in replying 8 days of now power here. Hope to see you around the blogosphere.

  1. If I had to reduce the number of my books to fit on one shelf I would have a nervous breakdown. I am down to 1,800 books (from 2,300) and it is very hard to part with them.

    1. I know. I have culled as much as I can without it being painful. But we are talking about a move which would require more.
