“The sequel! What about the sequel?!”: Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday
Each week The Broke and the Bookish will post a new Top Ten list that at least one of their bloggers will answer.
Everyone is welcome to join.

So this week is hard most because it is harder and harder to find simple sequels and not series. So there are some sequels here and some series that keep or kept getting better. I give you my top ten Best Sequels Ever.

Storm Front: Book one of The Dresden Files

Dresden Sequels – Jim Butcher is made of win topped with awesomesauce and Dresden keeps getting better and better. I am sad now because I have caught up and have to wait along with the rest of you for the next ones.

Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone)

Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #2) – Laini Taylor, I really can’t wait much longer for Dreams of Gods and Monsters. May 2014? What a great birthday present. DoBaS was wonderful in a so sad and heartbreak and I want to sit here and be quiet now kind of way.

The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden)

The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) – Before I get DoGaM I get The Forever Song. Really hoping that this keeps up the pace of TEC. I love Julie Kagawa’s world and this sequel was better than the first.

Wyrd Sisters: A Novel of Discworld

Discworld Sequels – Reading Terry Pratchett’s Witch path right now and I can’t say enough great things about Wyrd Sisters. Some Macbeth, and some Hamlet, and some King Lear for good measure. LOVE!

Special Edition Harry Potter Paperback Box Set

Harry Potter Sequels – Always!

Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There

Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There – In actuality most of what people think of when they think about Alice is from this book not the first one.

Children of God (Ballantine Reader's Circle)

Children of God (The Sparrow, #2) – One of the best books ever and thankfully one of the best sequels. Also this finishes the story and lays it bed. Beautiful and wrenching.

Chaos Walking: The Complete Trilogy

Chaos Walking Sequels – Loved the stories, loved the addition of new voices in the sequels.

Sapphique (Incarceron)

Sapphique (Incarceron, #2) – Steampunk royal intrigue? One of the few stories I wish there were more to.

The Magician King: A Novel (The Magicians)

The Magician King (The Magicians, #2) – Save the best for last? Why yes I did. LOVE LOVE LOVE. This is beyond an amazing sequel. It is one of my favorite books ever. And the nebulous 2014 release date for The Magician’s Land makes me turn into a temper tantrum throwing 2 year old.
